In Middle Tennessee, most people still prefer to do business with someone they can shake hands with and look in the eye–and that is how Shawn greets all of his customers. While he may initially talk on the phone or email back and forth, he intends to follow these southern business traditions so that you feel comfortable and familiar with him as he guides his team of loan officers through assisting you with your loan.  To make you a little more familiar with this seasoned leader behind our team, here’s a little background on Mr. Shawn Ireland.

Shawn is a Mortgage Loan Officer who is dedicated to the highest customer service standards, and he has lived all over–from Florida to Oregon, from Texas to Germany. If you asked him where he was from, he’d tell you Texas since he lived there the longest. Shawn decided to join the U.S. Army in 1998, and he served for eight and a half years as a down-in-the-dirt infantryman. While it wasn’t easy, he can easily say, without a doubt, that it was the best decision he has ever made. The Army further instilled values that Shawn already had–loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage–and engrained the importance of professionalism and the maintenance of strict standards, all of which are an integral part of how he handles every aspect of my business and my personal life.

My eight years in the Army included two tours to Kosovo and two tours to Iraq, but, fortunately, during that time, the Army also decided that he had to spend some time in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In 2002, Shawn met a wonderful woman named Kelly Whitaker, and her married her before she could get away. His first son, Nate, was born while I was in Iraq the first time, and his second son, Will, was born just before he went back the second time, which meant that she took care of our boys all on her own while Shawn served overseas. Needless to say, after completing a total of 29 months in Iraq, he was ready to leave the Army and help his wife raise our two boys in Hendersonville, where his wife has lived nearly her entire life.

Now, after 11+ years of serving people in the mortgage industry as a loan officer, Shawn has decided to manage our team of very talented Loan Officers here at the Bank of England Mortgage.  He is here to help them be their best and them provide the most superior service possible for each and every customer and REALTOR that comes through our doors.  No one works more tirelessly than Shawn to ensure his team and customer has everything they need to be successful!
